VOC & FORMALDEHYDE
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that have a high vapor pressure at ordinary room temperature. Their high vapor pressure results from a low boiling point, which causes large numbers of molecules to evaporate or sublimate from the liquid or solid form of the compound and enter the building's surrounding air.
HEALTH ISSUES RELATING TO VOCs
Key signs or symptoms associated with exposure to VOCs include conjunctival irritation, nose and throat discomfort, headache, allergic skin reaction, dyspnea, declines in serum cholinesterase levels, nausea, vomiting, nose bleeding, fatigue, dizziness
Mold is a type of fungus, comprising single-celled or multinucleate organisms that live by decomposing and absorbing organic material in which they grow, i.e.: mushrooms, molds, mildews, rusts and yeasts. Molds are decomposers of dead organic material such as leaves, wood and plants. Molds sometime infect living plants and animals. The spores and mold colonies are too small to see with the human eye without a microscope. When a lot of mold is growing on a surface, it often appears black, green, pink or purple. Mold growing on fabric is called mildew.
